Getting Started on The Access Hub

When you first log into your account, you will see the dashboard:

On the left of your screen, you will have a navigation panel:

Clicking on these buttons will lead you to the corresponding pages.

Additional guidance on using these functions can be found on this site.

Please note- if you are a student, you will not have the button for 'Schedule' as your tutor/coach will book your session.

On the right of your screen, you'll see our student bulletin:

This section will advertise five supercurricular opportunities to students.

The opportunities displayed will be free and beneficial to students looking to learn more about their options after school or to boost their university or professional applications.

By clicking on the title of an opportunity, you will be taken to a page with more information.

The opportunities will be regularly updated and there will be a range of options suitable to all interests and locations.

If you are a tutor or coach, you can engage with the student bulletin board by encouraging your students to participate in anything that you think would be of interest to them.

Similarly, if you know of any opportunities that may benefit our students, please share them with us. You can do so by emailing chloe.thacker@theaccessproject.org.uk

We will then be able to review whether to share this on the student bulletin or to share it with a target group of students.

The center of your dashboard will show your calendar.

When you first log in, this will say 'no events to display'.

Once you have booked a session, you will see it on your dashboard's calendar. For more information on how to book a session, see 'Scheduling a session' guidance here.

By clicking on the title of your session, you will see this pop-up:

If you click on 'Test audio and video', you can enter the test classroom to check that your device's camera and webcam are working. This test classroom does not have whiteboard/presentation capabilities as it is not designed for this purpose. Please note that student(s) are unable to enter a test classroom.

A few minutes before your session is due to start, an additional button will appear stating 'Open online classroom'

Please carefully select 'Open online classroom' as only this option will allow you to meet with your student(s).

If you wish to send a message to your student(s), select 'Inbox' on the navigation panel on your dashboard.

You can then click 'compose' and use the arrow on the 'add recipients' box to select your student(s).

Add a subject, and type your message into the text box.

For more guidance on sending messages, see 'Messaging on The Access Hub' here.
