Closed Captions
Closed Captions
To enable live closed captions during your tutorials, you must enable closed captions on your browser.
To enable closed captions on Chrome:
- Open Chrome on your computer
- In the top right of the browser window, select the three vertical dots > 'Settings'
- In 'Settings', navigate to 'Accessibility', then toggle on 'Live Caption'
- If you wish, you can add captions in additional languages by clicking ‘Add languages’.
- Once you have enabled closed captions on Chrome, you will be able to view the captions in real time when others speak during your tutorial.
Customising Closed Caption View
You can also customise how you view your live captions:
- Select the downward arrow at the bottom of the caption bubble to expand the captions and see more lines (conversely, you can select the upward arrow while expanded to show fewer lines)
- You can ‘Pin’ the caption bubble so that it stays visible even if audio has stopped (e.g. if a video has been paused or if someone has stopped speaking)
- You can also drag and drop the caption bubble to your preferred position on the screen.
Reasons to use Closed Captions
